Breath

November one, sweet corn and pumpkins are done,

I feel the seasons moving on now,

and now I’m looking for at least one snowflake,

seasons pass by, as do I,

leaves still clinging to branches soon to be among the fallen, winter callin,

no, it’s more, all of nature calls and it is for us all,

it is life and death, our energy, our breath,

So in this wild I pause, take a breath, in silence, observe and listen,

to find comfort in knowing my own place in this earth and space,

and in encountering its majesty, its mystery, find humility.
